At the end of 2006, the Vietnam press told the news that VTC Digital Television “constituted infringement of copyright on broadcasting the program of final Miss World 2006”. In speech responding to Vietnam Law Newspaper’s interview, Lawyers of Le & Le Law Firm expressed its opinion that “there has not adequate ground for either concluding that VTC’s telecasting constitutes infringement of copyright on broadcasting the program of final Miss World 2006 of Zeal Television, or supposing that VTC infringes upon copyright of TV Plus Company”.

After that, VTC Digital Television invited Le & Le to give legal advice to protect VTC’s right in the dispute related to broadcasting the final Miss World 2006. After carefully studying the cases, IP Law and regulations effective at happening time of the case and international treaties on copyright, Le & Le put forward tightly legal advice and arguments affirming that broadcasting the program of final Miss World 2006 was not consider a subject of copyright protection at that time in Vietnam. Therefore, VTC’s broadcasting the final Miss World 2006 was legally allowed and did not constitute any infringement of copyright on broad casting final Miss World 2006.
