On 19 September 2006, a training course on computer program protection was co-organised to economic police and inspectors of the Ministry of Culture and Information (MOCI) by Lê & Lê Law Office and the Business Software Alliance (BSA).
Attendees of the traing course included economic police of Department of Anti-Hitech Crime, Economic Police Bureau, Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and inspectors of the Ministry of Culture and Information. Features of the training course comprised of (i) Protection of computer programmes under the Intellectual Property Law of Vietnam; (ii) License policies to users of BSA Members; and (iii) Methods to collect evidence when checking users’ computer.
With the lectures on the protection of computer programmes of many leading experts (Mr. Le Hoai Duong of Lê & Lê, Mr. Tarun Sawney - BSA’s Director for Anti Piracy in Asia, representatives from Microsoft, Autodesk, Symantec), the course provided attendees with deep understanding of computer programmes protection, which would contribute to the effective fight against software piracy.
