On 14 September 2005, the Science, Technology & Environment Committee of the National Assembly and Lê & Lê co-organised the seminar on copyright protection in Vietnam aiming at collecting contributive opinions on making provisions on copyright and related rights in the draft IP law.
Participants of the seminar included: (i) the Standing Committee of Science, Technology & Environment of the National Assembly, (ii) Representatives from the Legal Committee of the National Assembly, (iii) Representatives from the Culture and Education Committee of the National Assembly, (iv) Representatives from the Legislation-Building Department of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, (v) Representatives from the Copyright Office of Vietnam – MOCI, (vi) Representatives from the National Office of Intellectual Property – MOST, (vii) Representatives from departments of the National Assembly Office, (viii) members of the Intellectual Property Law Drafting Team.
Speakers of the seminar were Mr. Mihaly Ficsor, former Assistant Director General of the WIPO and Mr. Michael Schlesinger, Vice President and Associate General Counsel, International Intellectual Property Allience (IIPA.)
Speakers of the seminar and Le Hoai Duong of Lê & Lê put forth many valuable opinions about the completion of provisions on copyright and related rights in the draft IP law (approved by the National Assembly on 19 November 2005)
